Summary: Performs clinical and administrative tasks to support the work of physicians and mid-level providers ensuring delivery of high quality patient-centered medical care as well as regulatory and safety excellence.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Deliver an excellent patient experience by way of exemplary patient focus and customer service skills
• Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or mid-level provider
• Assist physician and mid-level providers in exam rooms
• Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in the patient chart
• Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or mid-level provider
• Administer injections as defined and directed by the provider
• Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in the patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
• Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
• Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and mid-level providers
• Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, medications, etc.)
• Register patients for ipledge
• Initiate and complete prior authorizations for medications
• Organize, track, order and stock medical supplies
• Cleaning duties as directed by management, following standard OSHA and practice policies and protocols
• Effectively and safely use various pieces of equipment (autoclave, light box, etc.)
• Maintain HIPAA compliance
• All other duties as assigned

Required education:

• High school or equivalent
• Medical Assistant Program

Required experience:

• Certified Medical Assistant: 1 year
